Winter is Here and Running is Going to Suck

Yep it's that time of the year officially; the dreaded winter. I really dislike the start of winter as running outside can really suck. I've learned this little fact the hard way over the last few years, I just don't like running in the snow. So far I've been lucky and have gotten away with running in a long sleeve tech shirt, glove and a cap but this morning it was -8 Celsius and there was ice and snow on the ground. This is the first time this year we've gotten that cold or hand snow on the ground here in Toronto and it sucked... I mean it was pretty but also chilly and slippery. Well that only meant one thing, it was time to pull out the running tights and a proper running jacket, I am not a fan of this... It already feels like it's gunna be a long winter and it hasn't event really begun yet.

I'm really new at running in the cold and can never dress properly. Today I considered abandoning my coat in the bushes and coming back for it with the car.

Thanks for reminding me that it doesn't matter if I get better at it- it will still suck. I need that.

There is no such thing as bad weather, only bad clothing :p

I have ran in -20 C already this winter and the run was great. I got a new windproof jacket that is AMAZING. I wear this over two or three layers. Along with my windproof gloves and a hat this winter has not been all that bad :)

It's not so bad once you dress for it. Enjoy.

Yeah running in the really bad weather but running on the treadmill is worse... We've been pretty lucky so far so here's hoping to better weather this winter! Happy Running...glad to see you back at it.
